AMARILLO -- A heavily traveled road will be getting a major facelift starting June 2.
Beginning Monday, the eastbound side of 34th Avenue will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane each direction on the westbound side of the roadway.
Driveways will be accessible through the duration of the project. Motorists can expect delays through December.
City Engineer Mark Read says, “This will be a total reconstruction of the road from the ground up to repair the severe cracking that has caused the street to be so rough. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to their destinations and to drive with extreme caution through the construction area.”
