Update: One Person Sent to the Hospital After Shots are Fired on Dunaway Street

UPDATE 10:05 A.M. -- Police say that a domestic disturbance led to the shooting on the 1400 block of Dunaway.

Witnesses tell Police that a husband came home from work and found another male in the residence. 

The two men initially got into a verbal argument inside the residence and at some point the male subject who did not live there ran out of the house. The subject was armed with the homeowner’s pistol and began firing back towards the husband. 

The husband began chasing the male subject as more shots were fired at him. Somewhere near the front yard of the residence the homeowner tackled the male subject and they began to fight over the gun. 

During the struggle, the gun was fired and the male subject was struck in the chest area. The male subject was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. 

The husband has been released pending investigation.
AMARILLO --  Police have taken one person into custody and are questioning a witness after shots are fired on the 1400 block of Dunaway.

Police tell us two men got into a fight at around 8:30 p.m., and a gun was accidentally fired. One man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso.

No word yet on the victim's condition.
