Helicopter Parenting

It's called Helicopter Parenting, which is parents who do everything possible to prevent their child from being uncomfortable. Belinda Palacios from Cal Farley's Boys Ranch says it's important to let your child make mistakes and learn on their own.

Kids who are protected from natural consequences tend to have a more difficult time transitioning into young adulthood. Palacios says helicopter parenting can also interfere with your child's responsibilities as an adult.
