AMARILLO -- It's the fourth trip across the nation for Larry Frederick-- pretty impressive, for a man who was told he'd never walk again.  He was hit by a driver while working as a police officer in Oakland, California.  Now, his life's goal, is to get people to donate blood through a campaign called Life Across America, because donated blood is something that he wouldn't be here without.

"Today my goal in life is to find your donors, especially the Amarillo donors and tell them thank you because they're all heroes in my book and in my family's book," said Frederick.

It was an appropriate day for him to be peddling through, it's the last day to donate to Coffee Memorial's Boots vs Badges blood drive.  They're accepting donations until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
