Jersey Mike's Kicks Off Annual "Month of Giving"

AMARILLO - Jersey Mike's is teaming up with the Children's Miracle Network this month to raise funds to help sick kids in our area.

Customers will be able to make donations at the restaurant throughout the month of March to CMN.

Last year Jersey Mike's raised more than $5,500 for CMN in Amarillo, allowing them to buy necessary medical equipment and provide services to children in need.

Each year more than 10 million kids enter a children’s hospital for treatment across North America.

Molly Caviness, the director of CMN in Amarillo, said donations from businesses like Jersey Mike's are central to the work they do to help sick and injured children.

"We could not raise the funds that we do without all of our partners," Caviness said. "We have several partners. Walmart, Dairy Queen, CEFCO, those are all national partners. And we've started to build local partners like Jersey Mike's, which are a huge key to our success. "

Locally, Caviness said CMN works to help families, rural hospitals and even supports Child Life programs at BSA and Northwest Texas hospitals. While the fundraising campaign with Jersey Mike's will last through the end of the month, March 28th will be the designated "Day of Giving."

100 percent of sales that day will be donated straight to Children's Miracle Network in Amarillo.
