July 26th in International Tiger Day at the Amarillo Zoo.

Visitors of the event learned about tigers and other big cats.

Zoo Curator Rhonda Votino says, "today we're celebrating international tiger day. Its  a day for zoos globally to really bring about awareness on the  plight of the tiger. They're one of the very endangered species out there there's thought to be less than 3,200 tigers left out there in the wild."

The event also featured other fun activities for children such as crafts and getting to have their face painted like a tiger.
