SANTA FE -- The number of infants dying in New Mexico is down.

A new report shows the rate as decreased by 22-percent in 2013.

That equals only around five out of every 1,000 infants dying.

Officials say they think some of the problems include chronic conditions in mothers and increased alcohol and tobacco use.
