Homer’s Backyard Ball evolved from a casual get-together in Travis Homer’s back yard in 1997. It has grown every year, and now receives regional and national attention. This is the event's 18th year, and it is being advertised in four states. Homer’s Backyard Ball is a production of the Homer’s Backyard Ball Foundation, a registered 501-c-(3) nonprofit organization, that donates substantial amounts of money to children’s charities throughout the area. Beneficiaries include the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Khiva Shrine of Amarillo, Snack Pak for Kids, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and others.
