This time it wasn't the woman getting off the plane, but the dog in her bag that got all the attention.
Addison, the 7-year-old Dachshund was warmly embraced by her owner 14-year-old Abby Mason.
Abby hadn't seen the dog since June.
Addison was picked up as stray in Tampa, Florida after getting away from relatives she was visiting there.
Hillsborough County Animal Services identified the animal through her microchip.
They provided medical care including a good dental cleaning, but one problem remained -- how to get the dog back home to Kansas City, Missouri for the holidays.
Apparently Dachshund owners are a pretty tight group, many came forward and Crista Banks used her Skymiles to escort Addison on the journey home.
It was a good trip.
"The guys at Delta upgraded us to first class, so she actually flew first class," Banks laughed.
Mason was thankful to all who helped her friend of seven years.
"I don't think I would have been able to do it on my own, so the pound helping and Crista helping and my parents," she said.
Mason recommended everyone get their pet micro-chipped.
