Hillside Elementary Receives Helmets From Northwest Texas Childrens Hospital and Kohls

CANYON -- Hillside Elementary has been chosen as the recipient of the Helmet Safety Program for Northwest Texas Childrens Hospital.
The program is supported by the Kohls Cares funds and the donation assists Northwest Childrens Hospital in injury prevention, specifically prevention of childhood injuries related to bicycle and pedestrian accidents.
Since 2005, Kohls donations have accumulated to $171,777 to Northwest Childrens Hospital. The Helmet Safety program has helped fit 26,700 helmets in Amarillo and the surrounding areas.
Kohls sells $5 books and toys, with 100 percent of net profit benefiting childrens health and education programs nationwide, including hospital partnerships.
