High Plains Food Bank Hosts Training for Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance

AMARILLO - The High Plains Food Bank hosted a training for the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance.

They got the chance to hear some of the concerns of local producers in the area.

We are told the training was intended to help teach small and medium scale farmers and ranchers how to communicate with legislators over issues that directly affect them.

"We are hearing back from legislators in Austin that there's interest in what to do. Now they also need to hear directly from their constituents, and one of the things we do is we take the message to Austin, but then we also teach people how to talk to their own elected officials to deliver their messages," said Executive Director of the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, Judith McGeary.

Farfa hopes this training will give local producers the knowledge and skills to make their voices heard in Austin and to motivate them to interact with their elected officials.
