Buddy and Tony are Amarillo area musicians who have played together in bands over the years, all graduated high school together and all are prostate cancer survivors. Robert has played in several of the Friends of Fogelberg concerts, this is Buddy's second concert and Tony's first.
This years concert on Thursday, September 4th features not only the music of Dan Fogelberg, but this year they've added the Beatles music to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their first appearance in America.
Buddy and Tony along with Dr. Richard Kibbey (host of the event and also a survivor) will be featured in some music segments during the concert as The Survivors.
Each member of the survivors has their own story of dealing with the disease but mainly want to emphasize the importance of what to do, treatment options and the seriousness of getting your blood PSA checked regularly.
