Talking to Teens About Drugs

AMARILLO -- With kids getting out of school for the summer, they may have less supervision while parents work.

So experts have information on what to look for when it comes to kids and drug abuse.

They say it's not just street drugs parents need to think about.

Prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse is a big deal.

This can range from prescribed pain pills to couth syrup with DMX in it.

And the new debate about legalizing marijuana has some kids thinking it must be safe to smoke.

Here are some warning signs of drug abuse:
Fatigue, 
Red or glazed eyes,
Confusion, 
A lasting cough
Irritability, 
Lack of interest, 
And rule breaking.
