Study - Infant Sound Machines Damage Hearing?

-
A warning for parents using noise machines to help their babies sleep.

A new study says some of them may be too loud, increasing an infant's risk for hearing loss.

Researchers say some noise machines exceed safe noise levels for adults, let alone infants.

The study does not identify any specific models.

The authors recommend placing the machines as far away as possible from the infant and only playing them at a low volume for a short time.

The study is published in the journal Pediatrics.
