Fertility Drugs Do Not Increase Breast Cancer Risk

-
Women who take fertility drugs do not increase their risk of getting breast cancer, according to a new study.

Researchers analyzed nearly 10,000 women who were exposed to two different kinds of fertility drugs.

The patients were evaluated for infertility between 1965 and 1988 and followed until 2010.

Among them, 749 women developed breast cancer.

Researchers found those exposed to the drugs were no more likely to develop breast cancer than those who didn't take the treatment.

The study appears in the Journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.
