FDA Approves Device For Migraine Treatment

-
The FDA has just approved a headband to treat migraines.

It's called Cefaly and you wear it over your forehead.

The battery-powered device delivers small impulses to the nerves.

A company in Belgium developed it.

A trial published in the journal Neurology last month shows Cefaly reduced the number of chronic migraine attacks on average by two per month.

But the device was not shown to reduce the severity of attacks.

The FDA says you'll need a prescription for the device, and you should only wear it for 20 minutes a day.
