Chaired to Death?

(NBC News) Sometimes all we want to do after a long day parked at a desk at work is veg out on the couch and binge on some mindless television, but spending too much time in front of the TV may cut our lives short.
A new study from the American Heart Association finds that sedentary behavior of watching at least three hours of TV a day may double the risk of dying early.
"Lack of physical activity is associated with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and diabetes," points out Dr. Nieca Goldberg.
Those are big risk factors for heart disease, the nation's number one killer.
The study found no link between early death and excessive computer time. Some experts suggest the issue with too much TV is that we tend to snack mindlessly while watching shows, and with technology to blast through commercials, there's no need to get up and move around.
