Cancer Rates Could Soar 70% In 20 Years
Today is world cancer day and there's a new warning from the World Health Organization.
Cancer cases are expected to increase 70 percent over the next 20 years.
Within two decades, the WHO predicts new cancer cases will rise from an estimated 14 million in 2012 to 22 million annually.
Developing countries will be disproportionately hit.
But health leaders say even wealthier countries will struggle with skyrocketing treatment costs.
The WHO urges more commitment to prevention and early detection.
