New York, New York -
(NBC News) It's deadline day for Obamacare.
From coast to coast the procrastinators lined up and logged on to buy health care insurance,
some for the first time.
It wasn't easy. The call centers were busy and the website was balky.
At times Monday more than 100,000 people were trying to log onto HealthCare.gov, and the overload briefly knocked the site offline.
The midnight deadline is being described as "not firm"; anyone who has started the process will be allowed to finish.
"We'll allow them to finish the process. I can't imagine how fierce the criticism would be if we had an arbitrary cut off tonight," says White House Health Policy and Reform advisor Phil Schiliro.
