Amarillo -- The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons granted a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to the Cancer Program at BSA.
A facility receives a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation following the on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor during which the facility demonstrates a full scope of the cancer program (cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement). In addition, a facility receives a compliance rating for all other standards.
Bob Williams, President and CEO of BSA, said, "This Accreditation with Commendation can be shared with so many in our system. The relationship we have with Harrington Cancer Center and the Harrington Breast Center is a very important part of the cancer program our patients use. We also enjoy a relationship with excellent physicians in the fields of oncology, surgery, pathology, diagnostic imaging as well as the physicians who make the initial diagnosis of cancer."
