Financial Statements for Candidates Running in March Primaries

Tuesday was the first financial deadline for candidates running in the March primaries.

State Senator Kel Seliger leads all candidates in our area when it comes to fundraising.

According to the Texas Ethics Commission, the longtime incumbent has raised more than half a million dollars.

Fellow Amarilloan Victor Leal reports no contributions but there is a catch. A political action committee out of Houston called Friends of Victor Leal has raised $59,670.

Former Midland Mayor Mike Canon has reported more than $107,235.

No word yet on a PAC for Seliger or Canon, but the election season is young.

The Republican primary for State Representative of the 87th District; the incumbent Four Price has $330,171.

His primary opponent drew Brassfield has collected about a tenth of that with more than $34,479.

Incumbent Representative Ken King in District 88 leads his two opponents. King has a war chest of $168,231.

Jason Huddleston has nearly $37,865. 

Richard Beyea has $19,500.
