"Years ago, we did the big ribbons around these Center City horses, and we decided to take a little different approach this year and use the pink athletic tape, kind of like the Kentucky Derby horses to het them all pumped up for the race," Callie Holten, Race Co-Chair said.
With the race just a couple weeks away, organizers want people to get signed up. There's plenty of incentives. New this year, the top ten fundraising teams will get to take advantage of the V-I-Pink area on raceday, and top fundraising individuals can win all sorts of prizes.
But according to Holton, there's a bigger reason to race.
"Really the cause alone should be enough. The fact that 75 percent of our proceeds stay right here in the Panhandle is pretty huge," Holton said.
