Experts with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension say eating Easter eggs is completely safe if they're handled properly. That means the eggs have to be out of the refrigerator no more than two hours.
Never store hard boiled eggs in the fridge for more than seven days. After that, they go bad.
Experts also say if the shell of an egg cracks during an Easter egg hunt, throw the egg away. They say bacteria can get inside the shell, and contaminate it.
