Early Morning Fatal Wreck in Clovis

CLOVIS -- Early this morning, Clovis Police responded to a fatal wreck involving a pedestrian in the east bound lanes in the 4400 Block of East Mabry Drive. 

When officers arrived, they found 59-year-old Bessie Brooks in the east bound lanes of Mabry Drive roadway from an apparent vehicle strike.
The Toyota pickup was occupied by only a driver. The driver was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for a routine blood draw because the fatal nature of the crash, but he was uninjured. 
Brooks died from her injuries from the blunt force trauma from being struck by the pickup and tractor-trailer. 
There is no indication of alcohol or drug intoxication. 

The investigation is on-going by the Clovis Police Departments Major Crash Reconstruction Team.
