DPS Troopers Seize $2.7 million Worth of Heroin

AMARILLO -- A traffic stop Thursday, helps DPS seize over 15 pounds of heroin, worth over $2.7 million.

At 5:22 p.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 2005 Ford Five Hundred passenger car traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered seven vacuum sealed bundles of heroin in the seats.

Bianca Dinora Mendez, 23, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. 

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, to Oklahoma City.
