AMARILLO - During a traffic stop Wednesday, DPS seized over 22 pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $816,000.
At 6:30 p.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 1995 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered liquid methamphetamine in plastic containers.
The driver of the Corolla 26-year-old Leonardo Moreno-Aguilar was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, to Charleston, S.C.
An official said a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff.
