DPS Trooper Seizes Over $1 Million in Heroin

AMARILLO - A DPS trooper conducting a traffic stop on I-40 Saturday, discovered over six pounds of heroin valued at $1,075,101.31 inside the car.

At 2:12 p.m., the trooper stopped a 2012 Nissan Altima traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered four bundles of heroin in the passenger side rocker panel. 

Roberto Carrillo Beltran, 27, of Brawley California, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. 

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
