AMARILLO - During a traffic stop Wedneday, DPS seized 75 pounds of marijuana valued at almost $34,000.

At 6 p.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 2014 Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered three bundles of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.

John Kaluza, 48, and Marios Burgos, 36, were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Phoenix to Youngstown, Ohio.
