AMARILLO -- During a traffic stop on I-40 Monday, DPS seized 213 pounds of marijuana valued at over $96,000.

At 11:29 a.m., a DPS trooper pulled over Juan Daniel Parra, 24, and Raul Ernesto Araujo-Borrego, 20, for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered four bundles of marijuana in the trunk of the Taurus.

Parra and Araujo-Borrego were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Tucson, Ariz., to Fort Lee, Va.
