AMARILLO –- DPS seized over one pound of hashish valued at over $15,000 during a recent traffic stop Thursday on US 287.
At 12:20 p.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 2007 BMW Fusion traveling eastbound on US 287, for a traffic violation, near Claude in Armstrong County.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered the hashish in the vehicle.
26-year-old Robert Naim Girgis was arrested for possession of a controlled substance over 400 grams, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Denver to Irving, Texas.
