AMARILLO –- A DPS traffic stop Sunday on I-40, yielded over four pounds of meth valued at over $144,000.
At 2:33 p.m., a DPS trooper pulled over Robert Oscar Esquivel in a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Groom in Carson County.
During the traffic stop, the trooper found eight bundles of meth in the doors.
Esquivel was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance over 400 grams, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles to Tulsa, Okla.
