DPS Seizes 100 Pounds of Marijuana

CONWAY -– DPS seized 100 pounds of marijuana valued at $435,000 during a traffic stop Thursday.
At 9:15 a.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 2013 Ford Taurus traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.
The driver, Douglas Lynn Peterson, 67, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The trooper discovered 100 bundles of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Arizona to Arkansas.
