DPS Seize Over Half a Million Dollars Worth of Marijuana

AMARILLO –- DPS arrested Liech Tieu Phan, 33, and Diana Thi Kiem, 23, after a traffic stop Sunday finds 123 pounds of marijuana, worth over $540,000.

At 10:45 a.m., DPS trooper pulled over their 2014 Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Bushland in Potter County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 71 bundles of marijuana in the trunk.

Liech and Kiem were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Potter County Jail. 

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Rosemead, Calif.,  to Oklahoma City.
