Discovery Center Holding Spring Break Events

AMARILLO -- The Don Harrington Discovery Center is hosting several family events to help keep the kids learning and having fun during Spring Break. 

Mandi Reid, Director of Visitor Experience at the Don Harrington Discovery Center says, "We will be teaching and demonstrating many different aspects of science including the wind speed of a tornado, where does the value of pi come from, and much more. Each day guests will enjoy a special event in addition to the Space Theater and exhibits, which include the LEGO Castle Adventure and the Little Builders traveling Exhibits." 

The Spring Break celebrations are scheduled as:
  • Monday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Amarillo Bulls hockey players will be on hand to show kids how to hold a stick and shoot a puck. 
  • Tuesday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.- Guests will build castles out of recycled materials. 
  • Wednesday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Meet the players of the Amarillo Venom Football team. 
  • Thursday - Famed storm chaser Sean Casey of the TV show Storm Chasers and star of Tornado Alley will have his armored Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) on hand to see and explore, sponsored by Rhynehart Roofing and EF5 Shelters. 
  • Friday - Join us as we celebrate Albert Einsteins birthday and give away free pie starting at 1:59 until supplies last, sponsored by United Supermarkets.
