Construction Company's Bankruptcy Leaves Customers in Limbo

- AMARILLO -- A local business files for bankruptcy leaving many of its customers in limbo.

"Big State Remodeling" filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy last month.  According to court documents, as many as 200 businesses and individuals may be affected.

The bankruptcy filing indicates Big State Remodeling has as much as $10 million in liabilities.

Prior to the bankruptcy, there were already signs the company was in trouble.

In October of last year, the Better Business Bureau of the Texas Panhandle revoked their membership over unresolved issues.

BBB CEO Janna Kiehl says Big State Remodeling had a total of 19 complaints filed against them before their membership was revoked

Kiehl admits some of those problems may have been resolved but, because of the number of unresolved issues, their membership was yanked.
