AMARILLO -- TxDOT, Amarillo Police, and the DPS held a kickoff for this years Click It Or Ticket Campaign.
When the “Click It or Ticket” campaign began in 2002, only 76% of motorists buckled up. Today, 9 out of 10 Texas motorists are buckling up.
"Seat belts saves lives," said John Barton, TxDOT deputy executive director. "That's a fact."
Wearing a seat belt increases the chances of surviving a serious crash by 45-percent.
