Child Hit by Vehicle Wednesday Morning

AMARILLO -- Early this morning, Amarillo Police responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of San Jacinto and Western.  

Officers learned that the juvenile was crossing Western when a red 2004 Saturn, going southbound on Western, hit the child. 

The juvenile was conscious and able to speak to people at the scene, and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. 
The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for failure to grant right of way to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
