CANNON AIR FORCE BASE -- The 27th Special Operations Wing is hosting Teachers Understanding Deployment Operations, an event designed to give educators increased comprehension of the effects deployments have on military families.

The event is open to members of the Clovis and Portales, New Mexico, School Districts.

Teachers will process through a Personnel Deployment Function line, just as service members preparing for a deployment would.

They will then travel to their deployed location: Camp TUDOS.

Upon arrival, participants will be briefed by representatives from the Mental Health Clinic and Family Advocacy Program, who will provide insight on how to work with children whose parents are deployed.

Additionally, Cannons School Liaison Officer will be on hand to provide supplementary information and guidance.
