Starbucks Promises Better Barista Scheduling
Starbucks is making big changes to improve scheduling for its baristas.
This after the story of a struggling employee was featured in the New York Tmes.
The single mother told the newspaper her constantly-changing work schedule made it difficult to care for her family and continue her education.
In response, Starbucks executives say they will immediately update scheduling software, with an aim at providing "stability and consistency".
Managers will also be required to post schedules at least one week in advance.
And workers will never be asked to work an opening and closing shift back-to-back.
Starbucks says the changes will benefit more than 130,000 baristas nationwide.
