AMARILLO --   As KAMR NBC 4 and KCIT Fox 14 first reported Thursday, a coalition of Amarillo businesses is teaming together to build a multi-million dollar recreational complex.  But, it's going to require your vote.

The Amarillo Recreation Complex, or ARC, would be added to the existing Rick Klein Sports Complex in southeast Amarillo.

The public/private venture would cost between $35 and $38 million.

They plan to add an indoor aquatic facility, indoor recreation center, sports fields and walking trails.

The group will secure as much private funding as they can before asking voters to approve the rest in a bond election.

They plan to present their proposal to city commissioners August 13th with hopes of having the bond election added to the November 5 ballot.
