Amarillo, Texas -
AMARILLO, Texas - With almost 29,000 children in foster care in Texas, Buckner Children and Family Services is partnering with local churches to invite the Amarillo community to participate in 30 Days of Prayer for Foster Care during National Foster Care Month.
Buckner encourages those interested in participating to visit "Be A Family" website, where individuals can sign up to receive free daily devotional emails from May 1 - May 30.
Through following the daily devotionals, readers will be encouraged and challenged to reflect on Gods word as it relates to foster care and adoption. Each daily email will also include a prayer guide to help the reader pray for children in need of a family.
"I believe that God expects us to respond to the orphan crisis in our world today. He has called us as individuals, as Christians and as His church," said Lee Bush, former chair of the Board of Trustees, Buckner International. "This devotional guide is intended to be a help for you as you study and pray through Gods call to action. As you consider Gods calling on your life to care for the least of these, may you be blessed as you draw near the Father who can erase fear and bring hope with His unconditional love."
