AMARILLO --     There's something missing from the Amarillo skyline that has been there for more than 50 years.
Last night's windy storm separated the Big Texan cowboy from his post.
For safety reasons, he was taken down but work crews have already started putting him back in his usual place.
Bobby Lee, the Owner of the Big Texan, told us, "This is the first time that it's been through something like this, and it's survived two tornadoes, a blizzard, low flying air planes. "
The Amarillo staple became a major landmark on Rt. 66, he's welcomed travelers since the early 70's on I-40.
