Senator Aims to "Win Over" States Won by Trump in 2016 Election

AMARILLO - The Vermont Senator, Bernie Sanders paid a visit to Lubbock. 

The former presidential candidate spoke during a rally at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Senator Sanders is traveling to states that were won by president Trump in the 2016 election.

He said progressive candidates can win anywhere as long as they stand up for working families and take on the billionaire class. 

Supporters who showed up said it was exciting to see the senator,  not only in person but in West Texas.
"I have a feeling in my gut that this is the beginning of a profound political revolution that is going to change not only Texas but the United States of America," Sanders said.

The senator was in Austin and San Antonio on Mar. 9.
After his stop in Lubbock, he will be heading to Phoenix, Arizona.
