Putting color onto canvas. That's how a group of budding artists spent their summer morning.
"It's kind of like teaching them to put the beauty that they have inside, out on a canvas," Chris Rogers, a Canyon Art Instructor said.
Rogers teaches art camps at the Paper Crane Gallery in Canyon.
The kids spent the morning learning about a famous artist, and then trying trying the techniques for themselves.
Rogers says not only are the kids learning, they're having fun while they do it.
"Just to watch them be creative and explore, sometimes be messy. Now they get to break some rules. But in a positive way," Rogers said of the summer classroom atmosphere.
"Art helps bring out your personality," Jesse Melson, Owner of the Paper Crane Gallery said.
For the campers, it's a fun way to spend a summer day
When asked if she likes making art, camper Ashlyn Dixon said, "Yes. I just like making creations.
Making creations and helping kids learn a little about art along the way.
