Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

Today marks the 9th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

In 2005 it made landfall as it ripped through the gulf coast states of Mississippi and Louisiana, flooding New Orleans.

Over 1,500 people were killed.

The slow federal response to the incident led to heavy criticism of the george w bush administration.
