American Red Cross Honors Volunteers, Community Partners, Staff at Annual Awards Ceremony


PANHANDLE -- American Red Cross chapters across North Texas recognized there dedicated volunteers, community partners and staff this June.

The American Red Cross Texas Panhandle and Eastern Texas Panhandle Chapters welcomed its supporters to a special chapter awards event Thursday to honor its Everyday Heroes who give of themselves and in some way help their community.

“Every year each Red Cross chapter in the North Texas Region takes the time to honor, recognize and thank their hardworking volunteers,” said Steve Pair, executive director, American Red Cross Texas Panhandle Chapter. “Being able to award our volunteers, the heart of our organization, is one of our highest priorities. Personally, it’s one of the events I look forward to the most.”

The Texas Panhandle Chapter, with help from nominations and the Regional Awards Team, recognized a variety of achievements that occurred throughout the year. The awards and recipients included:

Texas Panhandle Winners:

  • Mentorship Award – Mary York
  • Community Spirit Award – Bell Helicopter
  • Rookie of the Year Award – Jacob Reddoch
  • Exceptional Volunteer Service, Disaster Preparedness & Response – Brady Christian
  • Exceptional Volunteer Service, Service to the Armed Forces – Mryl Betts
  • Chapter Employee of the Year – Steve Pair
  • Chapter Volunteer of the Year – David Watson

Easter Texas Panhandle Winners:

  • Community Spirit Award – Phillips 66
  • Citation of Exceptional Service – Celebration Family Church
  • Exceptional Volunteer Service, Volunteer Initiative – Timberly Lomeli
  • Chapter Volunteer of the Year – Warren & Rita Kretzmeier
