AMARILLO -- The City of Amarillo has maintained its AAA rating by Standard and Poor’s (S&P) rating service on both water and sewer revenue debt and general obligation debt and received a AAA rating on the relatively new drainage utility.
The AAA ratings allow the City of Amarillo to borrow money at the lowest interest rates available, in turn providing taxpayers significant savings on municipal capital projects.
“The City of Amarillo is especially honored to receive this designation,” says Mayor Paul Harpole. “It will help us continue improving our infrastructure and providing services to the people of Amarillo.”
Amarillo is one of only three cities in the state of Texas to achieve the AAA rating.
