AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police arrest two suspects on different days riding stolen motorcycles.
On July 23 at 10:40 p.m., Amarillo Police saw a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle at Amarillo Boulevard and Mirror without a no license plate on the vehicle.
Officers contacted the rider when he stopped at a convenience store. Police checked the motorcycles serial number, it showed that it had been stolen from an apartment parking lot on SW 45th Avenue on June 9 of this year.
40-year-old Gino Enriques was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. While being searched after arrest, officers found a .380 caliber handgun in his pocket.
Enriques was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
On July 25, at 5:45 p.m., APD COPPS saw a man fueling a motorcycle at the 24th Discount Store at 2340 Fritch Highway. The officers believed that the rider was a wanted suspect.
They made contact with 32-year-old Donny Phommyvong.
He is wanted on two Potter County warrants for probation violation for evading arrest with a vehicle/enhanced, and a probation violation warrant stemming from a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
He was arrested and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. A check of the motorcycle revealed that the ignition had been removed and that the license plate it displayed should have been on a red 2011 Honda rather than the Suzuki the man was riding.
Officers found that the Honda had been reported stolen from an apartment complex parking lot on S. Coulter on June 22.
Phommyvong was booked for the three warrant charges, possession of marijuana, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
