Amarillo Police Investigating Saturday Afternoon Personal Robbery on S Ong

AMARILLO -- Saturday afternoon, Amarillo Police responded to a robbery call on the 4600 block of S Ong.
Police talked with the 42-year-old victim and found out that after leaving the United Grocery store on S Washington, the suspect assaulted and robbed the victim.
The suspect stepped out of an older vehicle, possible a Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was black in color and had a red interior, and demanded money from the victim and shoved the victim to the ground.
The suspect forcible took the wallet from the victim and stole an undisclosed amount of cash out of the wallet and returned back to the vehicle and left the area.
The victim suffered some minor scrapes and bruising but did not require medical attention.
