AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police are investigating a possible carjacking. Police were called out at 11:10 p.m. to the area of Amarillo Blvd. East and Eastern Street about a stolen vehicle.

Officers searched the area and found the truck south bound on S. Grand near SE 3rd.  Officers tried to stop the vehicle but called off the chase after the suspect drove into the downtown area.

Shortly after this, officers near SW 10th and S. Adams announced that they had spotted the vehicle driving without its lights and speeding. Officers used tire deflating spikes and followed the vehicle to Crockett Street where the female stopped the vehicle and fled on foot.

A K-9 was sent to search the area and found Janine Ariel Storrs, 23, hiding in storage building in a back yard in the 900 block of S. Crockett.

Storrs was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on charges of evading in a motor vehicle, evading on foot, and a parole revocation warrant.
